Studio and Creative Director
Goldie Wong is an entrepreneur, artist, and the founder and director of UniverseSoul Dance Inc. With her outstanding vision and passion, Goldie is developing the dance community and enriching lives through music and movement. As a dancer, creator and mentor, Goldie has performed on the same stage as Janet Jackson, won awards for her unique choreography and has helped lead her teams to success at competitions. Always a student, Goldie has traveled the globe to train from the world’s best creative minds, prioritizing growth in order to give back to Calgary’s dancers.
Marketing Manager/Creative Director
Apple Sulit is a growing leader of the Calgary community and a creative director at UniverseSoul Dance. She has pursued dance as an instructor by training, creating, and mentoring students. Apple has taught across Canada and has received extensive training from industry leaders across North America. Her consistent work ethic has contributed to amazing opportunities such as performing with Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” Tour. Apple loves exchanging knowledge through dance and life hopes to inspire others to find their passion as she did!
Katherine Baquiran is a passionate dancer, teacher and choreographer born in Winnipeg and raised in Calgary. Her journey with dance started when she was 15 years old. She had the privilege of dancing back up for Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable Tour Calgary and placing 1st in Artist Emerge with Finesse (2017) and placing 2nd with UniverseSoul Company in Represent Edmonton (2017). Katherine hopes to inspire the next generation of dancers by embodying passion and hard work.
Rocky Aquino is a purebred Calgarian. His love for dance started at age 3, fascinated by the choreography in music videos with artists such as Michael & Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child and the Backstreet Boys. He's trained under industry professionals such as Alexander Chung, Carlo Atienza, Keone Madrid, Kyle Hanagami and Parris Goebel. Rocky has performed at the Juno Awards for Alessia Cara in Calgary. His mission with UniverseSoul is to create an environment for a growing community where hungry movers can continuously progress and fulfill their love for the art.
Ronald Edward Atutubo was born in Calgary, Canada. He is currently a student at the University of Calgary while dancing with UniverseSoul Company. Inspired by the likes of Brian Puspos, Poreotics and Michael Jackson, he came to fall in love with dancing and the art of choreography and performance. Ronald is now a leader in the UV community. Ronald aspires to be a teacher leading the younger generation to new heights.
A full-time student and dancer, Jessica Ormita started dancing with UniverseSoul at the age of 16. She is striving to expand her creative processes and has set a goal to travel around the world to train with and from different choreographers. Giving back to the community where her growth began is one of her biggest motives to continue training and exploring the art of dance.
Karen is a recent self-employed, worker and student. She dedicates her time to bettering the community. She started her dance journey three years ago with UniverseSoul Dance. Karen has been teaching various programs at UniverseSoul most recently co-directing Theory and teaching drop-in classes. Karen has conceptualized performance sets for Father Lacombe High School and Lester B Pearson High School.
Jasen Canul is a dancer born in Washington and raised in Calgary, Alberta. His journey began when he was 16 at Bishop McNally High School where he found others who shared a similar passion of dance… and seeing people do sick arms waves on YouTube! Jasen joined UniverseSoul at age 18 where he was able to grow his skills as a dancer and teacher. Currently, Jasen is an instructor at UV and a Facilitator at Antyx Community Arts. He works towards creating engaging events for youth in dance and to spread Hip-hop and Urban Dance Culture.
Jill Tranquilla is a visual artist and content creator. She has studied visual art, photography, videography and graphic designs at institutions such as ACAD, OCAD and SAIT. Jill is the women behind the camera for the majority of video content produced through UniverseSoul Dance. When she is not filming or editing, she most likely learning how to dance from the amazing instructors listed above.
